The College of Education and Human Development at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, in collaboration with the Early Childhood Agency at the Ministry of Education, organized on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the “Childhood Thrives in 2030” Conference. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, and attended by Her Excellency the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Enas bint Suleiman Al-Issa, along with several leaders from the education sector, Saudi institutions and authorities, and specialists in childhood fields. The conference took place at the university’s Conference and Seminar Center. The conference highlighted initiatives and plans aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance children’s quality of life. It showcased key studies and best practices in early childhood education and presented sustainable solutions for investing in childhood and the future of children in the digital age. The event featured three panel sessions titled: “Sustainable Investment in Childhood,” “The Child in the Digital World,” and “Children’s Psychological Well-being,” in addition to six specialized workshops, including: “Children’s Educational Rights,” “Strategies for Teaching Children’s Reading Skills,” and “The Role of Kindergarten Teachers in Promoting Holistic Child Development.” The conference also included interactive sessions that helped parents, educators, and specialists explore modern tools and technologies that support child development in the digital and AI-driven era, discover children’s talents, and raise awareness of their educational rights. It further featured meetings with experts in education, technology, and mental health. The conference witnessed the announcement of the winners of the Noura Childhood Award, launched last September in recognition of national efforts in enhancing children’s quality of life and psychological well-being. The award consists of two main tracks: the “Institutional Track – Institutional Initiatives” and the “Individual Track – Individual Initiatives.” On the sidelines of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and the Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz Foundation to collaborate and exchange expertise in support of community sustainable development goals. The “Childhood Thrives in 2030” Conference forms part of the efforts of the College of Education and Human Development to contribute to the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 Strategic Plan by building a knowledge-based community that supports childhood and by creating safe educational and healthy environments that enhance children’s quality of life.
