The College of Humanities and Social Sciences, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, announced the opening of registration for the “Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University Arabic Language Competition”, in its second edition for the current academic year. Registration will remain open until Saturday, January 1, 2026. The competition reflects the University’s role in promoting the status of the Arabic language among students, strengthening its cultural value, and deepening their sense of belonging to the language. It also aims to reinforce national and human values and create a motivating competitive environment that enriches linguistic activity among students across various academic levels. The competition focuses on enhancing students’ creative abilities in expressive, performative, and visual arts, as well as employing modern technologies in serving the Arabic language. It also prepares students to compete in the Cultural and Scientific Forum for Female Students in Universities and Higher Education Institutions of the GCC, and to produce innovative and high-quality creative works. The competition includes three main categories, each with multiple branches: writing Arts: poetry, short story, and theatrical script, performing Arts: debates and oral storytelling, and visual Arts: digital stories for children and Arabic calligraphy. A series of workshops will also be held to help students prepare for the competition. The evaluation is based on scientific and objective criteria, conducted by a judging committee composed of qualified faculty and administrative members from the Department of Arabic Language and Literature. Held annually at the University level, the competition attracted more than 55 students from diploma, bachelor’s, and graduate programs in its previous edition. The “Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University Arabic Language Competition” reflects the College’s efforts—through the Department of Arabic Language and Literature—to contribute to the goals of the University’s Strategic Plan 2025, by investing in student potential, promoting knowledge, skills, and values, and aligning with Saudi Vision 2030, which recognizes the Arabic language as a core pillar of national identity.
