Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, represented by the College of Education and Human Development and in collaboration with the Early Childhood Agency at the Ministry of Education, launched today, Wednesday, 22 October 2025, the “Childhood Thrives in 2030” conference, under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, and in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Enas bint Suleiman Al-Issa, along with several leaders from the education sector, institutions, Saudi authorities, and specialists in childhood fields. The event took place at the university’s Conference and Convention Center. The conference includes three panel discussions titled: “Sustainable Investment in Childhood”, “Children in the Digital World”, and “Child Psychological Well-Being”. It also features six specialized workshops, including: “Children’s Educational Rights”, “Strategies for Teaching Reading Skills to Children”, and “The Role of Kindergarten Teachers in Promoting Holistic Child Development”. The conference presents interactive sessions to help parents, educators, and specialists explore modern tools and technologies that support child development in the age of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. It also includes sessions on talent discovery, awareness of children’s educational rights, and dialogues with experts in education, technology, and mental health to discuss strategies, policies, and visions that governments and institutions can adopt to improve children’s quality of life. The conference includes interactive booths, a scientific-poster exhibition, and innovative educational-tools displays, in addition to an accompanying exhibition featuring various activities related to early childhood education. The exhibition showcases initiatives introduced by relevant entities and sectors to raise awareness of the importance of nurturing early childhood development and contributing to raising children in safe and sustainable environments. The conference will also witness the announcement of the winners of the Noura Childhood Award, launched last September in celebration of outstanding national efforts in enhancing children’s quality of life and psychological well-being. The award features two main tracks: Institutional Initiatives Track and Individual Initiatives Track. On the sidelines of the conference, a memorandum of understanding will be signed between Princess Nourah University and the Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz Foundation to foster cooperation and exchange expertise in support of community sustainable-development goals. The “Childhood Thrives in 2030” conference is aligned with the Crown Prince’s Initiative for “Protecting Children in Cyberspace” and forms part of the College of Education and Human Development’s role in supporting the strategic goals of Princess Nourah University’s Strategic Plan 2025. These goals include providing supportive and inclusive environments in the fields of childhood and human development, enhancing academic and research excellence, building effective partnerships to serve childhood, and implementing innovative community initiatives that contribute to preparing an aware and empowered generation for a vibrant and prosperous future.
