In Conjunction with World Food Day… The Deanship of Student Affairs Organizes the “Consume in Moderation” Event to Promote Nutritional Awareness

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University will organize, on Sunday, 19 October 2025, an event titled “Consume in Moderation,” in conjunction with World Food Day, to raise awareness about the importance of food security and healthy nutrition among university members and students, and to contribute to reducing food waste. The event will be held at the university’s Recreation Center. The event will run until 21 October 2025 and aims to activate the awareness role carried out by the Nutrition Unit within the deanship, promoting a culture of responsible consumption and spreading community awareness about the importance of preserving food resources. The event includes a field program and three awareness lectures covering specialized topics, including a lecture titled “Our Food… Our Future,” another titled “Safe and Healthy Food,” and a third titled “Because You Are Responsible.” These lectures aim to introduce food security concepts and highlight the latest techniques and practices to reduce food waste, in addition to raising awareness about adopting behaviors that improve consumption patterns and reduce waste percentage. The “Consume in Moderation” event reflects the efforts of the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Nutrition Unit, to contribute to achieving the goals of the Strategic Plan of Princess Nourah University 2025, in alignment with the objectives of the National Program for Reducing Food Loss and Waste, food recycling initiatives, and the effective and efficient utilization of natural resources.
