The College of Humanities and Social Sciences, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs at Princess Nourah University, announced the opening of registration for the “Princess Nourah University Qur’an Memorization Competition” in its third cycle for the current academic year. Registration continues until Sunday, February 8, 2026. The competition reflects the university’s efforts to prepare students to compete in the “King Salman bin Abdulaziz Local Qur’an Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation Award,” as well as international Qur’an competitions. It also fosters a spirit of healthy competition among students across diploma, bachelor’s, and postgraduate levels. The competition includes three main tracks, each with four categories: Qur’an Memorization Track (Entire Qur’an, 20 Juz’, 10 Juz’, and 5 Juz’), Memorization & Recitation Track for Students with Intellectual Disabilities: (Memorization of 3 Juz’, Memorization of 1 Juz’, Recitation of 3 Juz’, and Recitation of 1 Juz’), and Qur’anic Readings Track: (Memorizing 10 Juz’ with Seven Qirā’āt, Memorizing 10 Juz’ with Five Narrations, Memorizing 10 Juz’ with Three Narrations, and Memorizing 10 Juz’ with One Narration). Dr. Amina Al-Khunain, Chair of the Executive Committee and supervisor of the competition from the Islamic Studies Department, explained that supervisory, executive, scientific, and judging committees, comprising faculty and administrative members, had been formed. She added that workshops and training courses were prepared to introduce participants to the competition and its judging criteria. The annual competition previously attracted more than 250 students across diploma, undergraduate, and graduate programs. It reflects the College’s commitment, through the Islamic Studies Department, to supporting the university’s Strategic Plan by contributing to community service, expanding student participation in Qur’anic sciences, and offering impactful community initiatives rooted in promoting the Holy Qur’an.
