Deanship of Development and Quality Organizes the Seventh Annual “Welcome Noura” Event

The Deanship of Development and Quality at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University held on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, the seventh annual “Welcome Noura” event, which is organized for newly appointed faculty members and those returning from study abroad, with the aim of introducing them to the university’s academic and research support services. The event opened with a welcoming address by Acting University President Dr. Fawzia Al-Amro, who congratulated the new and returning faculty members on their academic achievements and emphasized their pivotal role in advancing the university’s objectives in line with Saudi Vision 2030, stating: “At Princess Nourah University, our ambition is to prepare a generation of highly competitive talents, excel in scientific research, and lead innovation within a sustainable society, and we believe that you are the essential pillars of this journey and the true wealth of Noura’s community.” The event also included remarks by the Dean of Development and Quality, Dr. Alaa Al-Luhaidan, who highlighted the significance of the gathering in supporting faculty members and reaffirmed the Deanship’s commitment to creating an environment that enables their professional and personal success. This was followed by a panel discussion titled “Noura’s Ecosystem for Leadership and Excellence,” featuring university leaders, as well as an accompanying exhibition introducing academic, research, health, and advisory services provided by various university entities, with participation from more than sixteen departments. The event serves as a prelude to a series of upcoming workshops and training programs for newly appointed faculty members, scheduled to begin on Sunday, 7 September 2025, covering topics such as national identity and belonging, modern teaching strategies and assessment methods, the UK Fellowship in Teaching and Learning, academic quality requirements, e-learning skills and Blackboard use, academic advising, community service, research skills, and professional development. The “Welcome Noura” annual event reflects the Deanship’s commitment to enhancing service quality, investing in faculty development, and supporting the university’s 2025 Strategic Plan aimed at achieving excellence in teaching and learning, empowering women, and strengthening research and innovation.
