As part of its role in building a competitive knowledge-based future, developing human capital, and enhancing 21st-century skills, the “Samouq” Program at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University empowered approximately 12,510 students during the past academic year through a series of specialized activities that included 53 workshops and training programs. Designed as an intensive developmental initiative, Samouq aims to strengthen the readiness of PNU graduates for future careers and equip them with the skills needed to adapt to rapidly changing technological, economic, cultural, and social landscapes in alignment with Vision 2030’s focus on continuous skill development, human capability enhancement, and preparing globally competent future leaders. The program centers on key objectives including developing a conscious national identity, establishing forward-looking strategies that anticipate the impact of technological culture, fostering creativity in accessing, developing, and investing in knowledge, and supporting labor-market foresight studies within Saudi Arabia. As part of its initiatives, Samouq implemented the “Samouq Hour” campaign within academic courses to introduce students to the program, encourage enrollment, and administer pre- and post-assessment surveys. It also launched the “Student Empowerment Initiative,” designed to translate acquired skills into real-world application, and introduced the “Future Leaders Program” in partnership with the Women’s Leadership Center to prepare student leaders for the labor market. The program participated in several professional events such as “Career Day,” the “Future Careers Forum” in collaboration with the Applied College, the “Tomohona Forum” with the College of Business Administration, the “Financial Awareness Forum,” and “Career Readiness Week” with the College of Education to raise awareness and deliver specialized workshops. Samouq is built on a scientific seven-stage measurement methodology that begins with awareness and ends with mastery, evaluating and developing a range of skills and values. At the program’s conclusion, students receive a “Skills Record Certificate,” documenting the competencies achieved in alignment with labor-market requirements. Its measurement tools are based on theoretical frameworks, previous research, academic literature, and the five-point Likert scale, in addition to surveys from Saudi university students to ensure reliability and relevance. Samouq aligns with Princess Nourah University’s 2025 Strategic Plan by supporting the development of an innovative, future-ready educational ecosystem and strengthening the presence of Saudi women in local and global labor markets.
