The Deanship of Admission and Registration at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched the “Academic Acceleration System” for newly admitted secondary-school graduates for the academic year 1447 AH, enabling academically distinguished students to accelerate their university studies according to their capabilities and performance. The system includes two tracks. The first is the “Foundation-Year Exemption Track,” which allows admitted students to bypass the foundation year and directly enrol in their desired major by meeting designated criteria, primarily successfully completing all specialized placement assessments, after which remaining non-exempt courses are completed as part of the academic plan. To qualify, applicants must be admitted into the Health Colleges Foundation Year or the College of Engineering and possess a composite score of no less than 89%. The second track, “Partial Acceleration,” enables students to be exempted from select courses upon passing designated placement tests. Applicants must be admitted to one of the following colleges: Nursing, Computer and Information Sciences, Science, or Business Administration, and also meet the minimum composite score of 89%. This system supports PNU’s 2025 Strategic Plan by enhancing academic excellence, preparing competitive graduates, and elevating the quality of higher-education outcomes through the adoption of advanced global standards. Additional details regarding eligibility criteria and exam schedules are available via the Deanship’s website.
