Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University hosted the Sidrah Hackathon, organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, on Thursday, 19 June 2025, at the University’s Conference and Seminar Center. The hackathon aimed to develop innovative solutions to address environmental challenges and encourage innovation in the fields of environment and sustainability. The three-day hackathon sought to raise awareness of sustainable environmental solutions through specialized workshops, as well as to develop skills and gain expertise through engagement with local and international experts and mentors. The hackathon also contributed to incubating promising projects within the Sidrah Incubator, with the participation of several government and private entities, alongside innovators and individuals interested in environmental challenges. It is worth noting that the Sidrah Program is a specialized initiative focused on building, strengthening, and developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the environmental sector by empowering entrepreneurs and investors, supporting their projects and innovations, and creating an inclusive educational environment that enhances innovation, creativity, and the development of entrepreneurship skills. Princess Nourah University’s hosting of the Sidrah Hackathon reaffirms its commitment to supporting the green economy, promoting innovation in environmental and sustainability fields, and empowering national competencies to develop technical and entrepreneurial solutions that contribute to sustainable development and the protection of natural resources, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
