The Medical Skills and Simulation Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University is organizing a series of specialized training courses throughout June, aimed at raising the efficiency of healthcare professionals and medical students and qualifying them to respond effectively to critical cases, at the Center’s headquarters on campus. Among the courses offered is Basic Life Support (BLS), which equips participants with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), and management of choking cases. The course is a fundamental requirement for professional licensure and is accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA). The Center is also delivering the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) in cooperation with the College of Medicine, covering topics such as neonatal respiratory support, delivery room resuscitation, and rapid decision-making in critical cases. The program contributes to enhancing obstetric team efficiency and reducing neonatal mortality rates and is accredited by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). In addition, the Center offers the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course, which focuses on rapid response to critical cardiac cases through advanced resuscitation skills, ECG interpretation, and emergency medication administration. The course is essential for work in critical care settings and is accredited by the AHA. The Center also provides the Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course in cooperation with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), targeting emergency medical technicians and paramedics. The course enhances their ability to rapidly assess patients, manage life-threatening injuries, and apply effective prehospital emergency care to improve rescue outcomes. These efforts align with the Medical Skills and Simulation Center’s role in achieving Princess Nourah University’s 2025 Strategic Plan by enhancing healthcare workforce efficiency, qualifying professionals to manage emergency and critical cases according to the highest global standards, strengthening healthcare sector readiness, and serving the community through internationally accredited specialized training.
