About The Academic Program

The program prepares world-class graduates academically and professionally in various specialized fields of translation between the Arabic and English languages by integrating high-quality education, advanced scientific research, and participation in social responsibility as well as preparing for leadership. Program objectives: The general goal of the program is to be a part of building the knowledge-based Saudi economy. The rest of the program objectives revolve around the following: Providing the next generation of international translators with the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for high-quality specialized translation in fields required in the current labor market, through integrating advanced information management, computer linguistic blogging, and technology with students' basic translation skills. Program Policy: The program is taught over two years (i.e. 4 semesters in a two-semester system). The program provides a comprehensive theoretical base in the specialty through teaching several compulsory and elective courses that are vital in the field of translation. The program also includes intensive translation and editing for different types of texts in fields related to the current Saudi labor market. The program also enables students to use modern technology translation tools, as well as refining students’ critical thinking and research skills through several courses and various assessment methods.

1 Equip the next generation of world-class female translators with the fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for high-quality specialized translation in the fields needed in the current job market,
2 ▪ Integrate sophisticated information management, corpora, online technology and computer-aided translation skills as part of the translation process
3 Promote the role of critical analysis and reflection in developing a fuller understanding of specialized translation within diverse cultural and linguistic contexts
4 Combine professional behaviors and leadership skills with sensitive awareness and effective participation in social responsibility
