About The Academic Program

The Master of Science in Computing Science (Data Science) program represents a qualitative leap in specialized technical education for women, combining high-level academic foundations with the latest applied skills demanded by today's job market. Launched in 2017 through a strategic partnership with Dublin City University (DCU) in Ireland, the program is designed with an innovative methodology to prepare women competencies capable of managing and analyzing all types of data (including big data), as well as developing predictive models and intelligent solutions that enhance efficiency and support critical decision-making in key economic, commercial, and vital sectors. Since its inception, the program has undergone continuous development to ensure it keeps pace with rapid advancements in the field and remains fully aligned with local and global market demands. This is in harmony with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to build a knowledge-based digital economy while considering sustainable development goals. As such, the program equips its graduates with the ability to bridge the significant and growing gap in data science, compete with distinction in one of the world’s most in-demand fields, and contribute effectively to leading national and regional digital transformation in the age of artificial intelligence.

Nature and Goals of the Program

This is a two-year fulltime curriculum with four semesters The student will obtain a Master degree in the master of Science in Computing (Data Science)

1 Cultivate data science expertise in the workforce to ensure proficiency in data science projects implementation.

1 Explain core and advanced concepts, theories, methods and operational characteristics at the forefront of knowledge pertaining to computing, statistics, data science and big data technologies.
2 Critically describe the main characteristics of the technical tools used to process, analyze and visualize data.
3 Critique the advances in data science in terms of theories, tools, technologies, and applications.
4 Explain the principles and application of quantitative and qualitative research methods and professional practice in data science.
5 Critically analyze data science problems, design models to solve them discuss and interpret the results.
6 Adapt and use appropriate technologies for efficient practical problem-solving and results evaluation.
7 Select, justify, and apply appropriate research methodologies in data science projects.
