Brief

Prof. Mary Anne Wong Cordero is a qualified and passionate educator with diverse academic experiences and proven competence in teaching biology, genetics, professional skills, and research. She obtained her PhD Biology from De La Salle University (DLSU) in Manila, a leading university in the Philippines renowned for its academic excellence as well as prolific and relevant research. Prof. Mary has more than 25 years of experience in the academe as a faculty and as an academic administrator in various capacities like being a Department Chair, Dean, and Vice-dean for Academic Affairs. Currently, she is a faculty member of the Basic Science Department at the College of Medicine at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University teaching Genetics. She facilitates and assesses self-directed and problem-based learning in addition to teaching. She participates in different curriculum evaluations and revisions of the various courses in the College of Medicine as well as in the College of Nursing and Preparatory Year Program. Likewise, she partakes in several committees like the MBBS Program Learning Outcome Committee, Strategic and Planning Committee, Subject Expert Committee, and others. Her research interests include behavioural genetics and pedigree studies, Cancer Biology, descriptive studies in genetics and health, and Medical Education.
