About the Vice Deanship
The role of the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs is to follow up on all aspects of the educational process in all departments of the college, in accordance with regulations and systems, by overseeing the implementation and development of educational programs and curricula, as well as attracting the best human resources in university education.The Vice Deanship aims to continuously develop and improve the academic work environment, enhance the performance efficiency of the departments associated with the Vice Deanship, and create a stimulating educational environment for creativity in order to achieve excellence in performance, in line with the mission and vision of the college and the program. This is done through commitment to quality standards and academic accreditation.
Departments and Units
Department of Educational Affairs
Tasks:
- Follow-up registration and schedules and submit reports.
- Follow up the progress of the tests and submit their reports.
- Follow up the progress of the educational process and submit its reports.
- Preparing a plan for academic advising in cooperation with academic departments and following up on its implementation.
- Supervision of the development program.
- Activating educational process committee workers (Failure, Grades Equivalency, Dean's list).
Department of Laboratories and Learning Resources
- Tasks:
- Supervising the college's laboratories and taking inventory of the laboratories and their contents on an ongoing basis, while evaluating the condition of the equipment and providing maintenance for it on a regular basis (in coordination with the laboratories unit at the university).
- Preparing schedules and organizing internal and external reservations for laboratories and equipment.
- Organizing the necessary training process before using laboratories and equipment
- Providing the laboratories' needs of disposables and chemicals by submitting a request for the needs to the concerned authorities and following up on the requests.
- Supervising the application of safety procedures in laboratories (in coordination with the Safety Department and the Radiation Control Department).
- Providing multiple sources of information related to educational needs
- Supervising the college library and providing and updating references according to the college's needs (in coordination with the central library).
Department of Teaching and Learning Quality
Tasks:
- Applying the requirements of academic accreditation standards
- Continuous evaluation of the curricula and seeking the opinions of specialists from the labor market
- Supporting the qualification of faculty members regarding the educational process in coordination with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning
- Specifying the best and latest educational practices in teaching the specialization and develop plans to adopt them in coordination with the Center of Excellence
- Follow-up the process of evaluating learning outcomes, identifying aspects of development therein, and supporting members in the evaluation process, in coordination with the departments.
E-learning unit
Tasks:
- Following up counting the electronic programs and courses within the college.
- Provide contact information with members and coordinators of electronic courses.
- Supporting course coordinators in case of technical problems.
- Working to spread awareness of e-learning to all faculty members, including members of the teaching staff and female students.
- Addressing initial inquiries from members and students and directing them to communicate with technical support in the administration through the available channels to solve problems.
- Communicate continuously with the representative of the e-learning department and report any problems and difficulties they have in the college.
- Submitting periodic reports on course development and activation to the e-learning department.
- Coordinating the holding of introductory meetings and preparation meetings for college students.
