Vice Deanship Key Responsibilities
Preparing the annual plan for the College Academic Affairs Agency and follow up on its implementation after approval.
Implementing the regulations and rules governing the study and examination regulations for the undergraduate stage and ensure their application by the units under it.
Supervising the academic programs at the college level.
Supervising the progress of the academic process in the college and prepare the possible educational environment for distinguished teaching.
Proposing new interdisciplinary programs in the college and develop existing programs in coordination with the academic departments, and follow up on their implementation after approval.
Supervise the work of the program quality assurance committees, tests and evaluation, and quality assurance, plans and curricula.
Supervise the application of the quality management system in the college and adhere to the standards of academic accreditation.
Departments and Units
Department of Educational Affairs
Tasks:
Following up on registration, schedules, and submit reports.
Following up on the progress of examinations and submit reports.
Following up on the educational process and submit reports.
Preparing a plan for academic advising in cooperation with the academic departments and follow up on its implementation.
Supervising the Orientation program.
Activating the work of the educational process committees (academic difficulty, equivalencies, Dean's list).
Laboratory Management and Learning Resources
Tasks:
Supervising the college laboratories, inventory the laboratories and their contents on an ongoing basis, evaluate the condition of the equipment, and provide periodic maintenance in coordination with the university's laboratory unit.
Preparing schedules and organize internal and external reservations for laboratories and equipment.
Organizing the necessary training before using the laboratories and equipment.
Providing the laboratories with consumables and chemicals by submitting requests for educational needs to the concerned parties and following up on the requests.
Supervising the implementation of safety procedures in the laboratories (in coordination with the Safety Management and Radiation Control Administration).
Providing multiple information sources related to educational needs.
Supervising the college library and provide and update references according to the college's needs (in coordination with the Central Library).
E-Learning Unit
Tasks:
Following up on the inventory of electronic programs and courses within the college.
Providing contact information for members and coordinators of electronic courses.
Supporting course coordinators in case of technical problems.
Working to raise awareness of e-learning for all college members, including faculty and students.
Responding to initial inquiries from members and students and direct them to contact the technical support at the administration through available channels to solve problems.
Communicating continuously with the representative of the e-Learning Administration and report any problems and difficulties they have in the college.
Submiting periodic reports on the development and activation of courses to the e-Learning Administration.
Coordinating to hold introductory and orientation meetings for college students.
Self-Education Office
Tasks:
Developing the skills of faculty members and raise professional competence.
Identifying the training needs and necessary programs to develop the faculty members at the College of Medicine.
Developing the necessary future strategies to raise the skills of faculty members to achieve excellence and creativity in teaching and research.
Organizing the necessary lectures and workshops in the college in coordination with the academic departments.
Conducting workshops at the College of Medicine and support the participation of faculty members.
Evaluating workshops and development activities and analyze their feedback.
Accrediting workshops with accredited hours from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in coordination with King Abdullah University Hospital.
Preparing attendance certificates for participants and certificates of appreciation for activity and workshop providers.
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and development to reach the model level in academic and professional performance.
Encouraging creative works and professional achievements of college members to achieve academic and administrative excellence.
