About The Academic Program

The program is computer-based that involves collecting, maintaining, storing, analyzing, and outputting spatial data and information such as maps, aerial, and satellite images. The program teaches students how to utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, remote sensing, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to assist in acquiring, managing, analyzing, and discovering geographic information. This aids in understanding relationships, directions, and patterns. It provides students with the scientific and practical skills necessary for the job market and community service.

Nature and Goals of the Program

It is a computer-based system that collects, maintains, stores, analyses, outputs, and distributes spatial data and information such as maps, aerial and satellite images using geographic information systems programs, remote sensing, and global positioning systems (GPS), which help students visualize, analyze, and discover geographical information in addition to Helping in understanding the relationships, trends and patterns that contribute to acquiring the scientific and practical skills necessary for the requirements of the labor market and community service.

2 Meeting the needs of the labor market for qualified and trained competencies in geographic information systems technology and environmental studies that contribute to achieving sustainable development plans.
3 Establishing a culture of volunteer and awareness work to enhance community service.

1 For the student to know the basic concepts of geographic information systems, remote sensing, and maps, and the mutual relationship between them and other sciences.
2 The student should explain the role of geographic information systems and remote sensing in protecting the environment and methods of planning and development in accordance with sustainability goals and indicators.
3 The student will review the various geographical factors and their spatial and environmental impacts using geographic information systems and remote sensing.
4 The student should read maps, aerial photographs, and satellite visuals and interpret geographical phenomena
5 The student should employ geographical concepts, theories and models in scientific research and field study.
6 The student will use geographic information techniques and its applications on computer programs, databases, mapping, using geographic information systems, and researching open source data.
7 The student designs, analyzes and produces maps.
8 The student will evaluate geographical problems and their solutions in a way that serves the goals of sustainable development.
9 The student should contribute to raising awareness to preserve the environment and consider this a religious, national and humanitarian duty.
10 The student should take the initiative in student activities and volunteer work to develop her personal skills to serve the community.
11 The student will work in groups to manage the team and work efficiently with others.
