Key Responsibilities 

  • Preparing the annual plan for the Academic Affairs Office in the college and follow up on its implementation after approval.
  • Implementing the regulations and rules governing the study and examination regulations for the undergraduate stage and ensure their application by the units under its supervision.
  • Supervising the academic programs at the college level.
  • Supervising the progress of the academic process in the college and prepare the possible educational environment for distinguished education.
  • Proposing new interdisciplinary programs in the college and develop existing programs in coordination with the academic departments, and follow up on their implementation after approval.
  • Supervising the work of quality assurance committees (program, exams, evaluation and quality assurance, plans and curricula).
  • Overseeing the application of the quality management system in the college and commitment to academic accreditation standards.

Departments and Units

Department of Educational Affairs

Tasks:

  • Following up on registration, schedules, and submit reports.
  • Following up on the progress of exams and submit reports.
  • Following up on the progress of the educational process and submit reports.
  • Preparing the academic advising plan in cooperation with the academic departments and follow up on its implementation.
  • Supervising the new student orientation program.
  • Activating the work of the educational process committees (academic probation, course equivalencies, dean's list).

Electronic Education Unit

Tasks:

  • Monitoring and catalog the electronic programs and courses within the college.
  • Providing contact information for members and coordinators of the electronic courses.
  • Supporting course coordinators in case of technical issues.
  • Working on raising awareness of e-learning for all college personnel, including faculty and students.
  • Addressing initial inquiries from members and students and direct them to the technical support team in the administration through available channels to resolve issues.
  • Communicating regularly with the e-learning administration representative and report any problems and difficulties encountered in the college.
  • Submiting periodic reports on course development and activation for the e-learning administration.
  • Coordinating informative meetings and orientation sessions for the college students.

Department of Laboratories and Learning Resources

Tasks:

  • Overseeing the college's laboratories, inventory the labs and their contents on a regular basis, assess the condition of equipment, and provide periodic maintenance (in coordination with the university's lab unit).
  • Preparing schedules and organize internal and external reservations for laboratories and equipment.
  • Organizing the necessary training before using the laboratories and equipment.
  • Providing the labs with consumables and chemicals by submitting requests for educational needs to the relevant authorities and following up on the requests.
  • Supervising the implementation of safety procedures in the laboratories (in coordination with the Safety Management and Radiation Control Administration).
  • Providing multiple information sources related to educational needs.
  • Overseeing the college library and provide and update references as needed by the college (in coordination with the Central Library).

Department of Education and Learning Quality

Tasks:

  • Implementing the requirements of academic accreditation standards.
  • Continuously evaluating the curriculum and seek the opinions of specialists from the job market.
  • Supporting the training and development of faculty members regarding the educational process, in coordination with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
  • Identifying the best and latest educational practices in teaching the specialization and develop plans to adopt them, in coordination with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
  • Monitoring the process of evaluating learning outcomes, identify areas for development, and support members in the evaluation process, in coordination with the departments.​
