About The Academic Program

The Diploma of Arabic Language for Non-Arabic Speakers is a linguistic program targeting non-Arabic speakers. It consists of four language levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and academic. The program aims to prepare students who aspire to join programs at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University. Additionally, the program encourages students to utilize their high linguistic and intellectual skills. The program was Developed based on accredited quality standards and contemporary studies in second language teaching and learning. The program aligns with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels and standards. The program is offered at the Arabic Language Teaching for Non-Arabic Speakers at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, enhancing its significance and uniqueness as the university's international gate.

Nature and Goals of the Program

This program aims to equip graduates with classical Arabic language skills which are : listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The program enables students to apply these skills in various situations, while also introducing them to the values of Arab-Islamic culture as well as develop an understanding of coexistence with other cultures.

1- Equipping the graduates with skills in the Arabic language, its elements, and practicing it in different situations.
2- Qualifying the graduates for academic study in the Arabic language.
3-Enabling the graduates to utilize modern technology and its various applications.
4 -Familiarizing the graduates with the values of Arab-Islamic culture and coexisting with other cultures.

1- Knowledge and Understanding:
- Explain the concepts related to the structures of the Arabic language, its vocabulary, sounds, and spelling.
- Identify the most prominent aspects of Arab and Islamic culture.
2- Skills:
- Apply the skills of the Arabic language and its elements (receptively and productively).
- Utilize modern technologies and scientific sources in their academic learning.
- Analyze the meanings, concepts, values, and opinions contained in texts using critical thinking skills.
- Communicate effectively with others in different situations, orally and in writing.
3-Values:
- Manage their self-learning through proper planning and taking responsibility.
- Work in a team spirit in different situations.
- Coexist with the community and serve it by interacting positively with its members.
