About the Council:

It is an elected student body representing the students of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University with the aim of developing leadership skills and enhancing their participation in decision-making. The Council is committed to achieving its objectives in accordance with the regulations, provisions and laws in force at the University.​


Objectives of the Council:

  • The council connects the student with the university to participate in decision-making.

  • Training students in leadership, honing skills, and promoting values.

  • Supporting and encouraging student initiatives, providing them with experiences that meet the needs of the job market.

 The Student Advisory Council consists of:

  • Council President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Members

Nomination Requirements:

  • The student must be enrolled in the bachelor's or diploma program at the college she is running for.

  • At least two semesters must have passed since her admission to the university.

  • She must have at least two semesters remaining until graduation.

  • She must have good conduct and behavior, with no disciplinary penalties imposed on her.

  • Her cumulative GPA should not be less than 3.50 out of 5.00.

  • She should possess effective communication skills and be able to work as a team.

  • She should actively participate in extracurricular activities and volunteer work.

Council Meetings:

 The Student Advisory Council holds regular meetings once a month, and emergency sessions can be called if necessary. The Secretary of the Council and the Council President     are responsible for preparing and notifying all members of the meeting. The members should be informed of the meeting date at least one week in advance for regular     meetings, and at least two days in advance for exceptional meetings. The invitation should include the meeting agenda. For a Student Advisory Council meeting to be valid, two-thirds of the members must be present, and recommendations are made by an absolute majority vote. In case of a tie, the side favored by the President prevails.


Duration of the Student Advisory Council:

 The council membership term is two academic years, after which new elections are held.

Roles of Student Advisory Council Members:

President:

  • Represents the council to the responsible authorities in the university.
  • Calls for council meetings.
  • Identifies the topics to be discussed in the council.
  • Chairs council meetings.
  • Distributes tasks among council members.
  • Coordinates the implementation of collective activities and maintains continuous communication with members to find solutions to all issues.

 Vice President:

  • Performs the President's duties in her absence or by official delegation.
  • Assists the President and carries out tasks assigned by the Council President.

 Secretary:

  • Presents the topics raised by members to the Council President, and prepares the council's agenda based on the President's instructions.
  • Writes meeting minutes, follows up on members' signatures on the minutes, and organizes council correspondence with special records.
  • Receives correspondence addressed to the council, and preserves its documents.
  • Maintains permanent records of council member data, including attendance records and signatures.
  • Follows up on the implementation of the Student Advisory Council's recommendations after approval by the University Director.
  • Prepares the council's financial report.
  • Performs any other tasks assigned to her by the Council President.


Members:

  • Officially represent the college and speak on behalf of the students at council meetings.
  • Attend all Student Advisory Council meetings and actively participate in them.
  • Promote programs and activities.
  • Raise topics they wish to discuss in the council to the Secretary.​


The university may provide financial rewards to distinguished Student Advisory Council members at the end of each semester, as determined by the Dean of Student Affairs, provided that the value of the reward does not exceed 500 Saudi Riyals per month. The student is not allowed to combine council membership with student employment.
