Press release about the World Diabetes Day event

The World Diabetes Day Campaign

As part of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University's efforts to raise awareness of chronic diseases and reduce the health risks associated with them, the Deanship of Student Affairs launched multiple events on November 17-18, in conjunction with Diabetes Awareness Day.

The health awareness campaign aimed to introduce diabetes types and symptoms and shed light on its impact on public health. It also focused on raising students' awareness of ways to prevent diabetes and the role of a healthy lifestyle in reducing the likelihood of developing diabete.

The university is carrying out these campaigns to extend its role in serving the community, especially that diabetes has become more widespread.  The campaign was conducted virtually and physically through a series of  lectures and workshops presented by specialists. The campaign also provided virtual health consultation sessions for students and staff.

Aiming to enhance volunteering in the health promotion, several students from various specialties participated in this event to raise awareness of diabetes.

It is noteworthy that this campaign came within the framework of the cooperation between PNU and non-profit awareness sectors to contribute to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 towards a vibrant society, and to enhance prevention against health risks by raising health awareness and encouraging the adoption of a healthy lifestyle
