Institutional Review Board (IRB):

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is the research ethics committee at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, recognized and registered with the National Committee for Bioethics (NCBE) under registration number HA-01-R-104. All research proposals and manuscripts resulting from research must be approved by the IRB before execution. Proposals, along with supporting documents, must be submitted via email to irb@kaauh.edu.sa. Proposals that do not involve human interventions are typically approved within 5 working days. Proposals involving human interventions are considered more complex and require 4-6 weeks for approval. The IRB also monitors the implementation of approved research through continuous oversight and audits, and it approves any necessary modifications. Additionally, the IRB reviews and approves manuscripts before submission to journals and conducts training programs for researchers. The committee also provides advisory services on hypothesis formulation, proposal writing, funding applications, data collection, analysis, and publication.

Grant Program:

The Research Grant Program at the Natural and Health Sciences Research Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University is designed to financially support health sciences research in line with national health research priorities. The program is funded annually by the budget of the Natural and Health Sciences Research Center at the university. Research proposals are solicited and received following a specific format, which are then reviewed, registered, and classified as either fundable or non-fundable. For fundable proposals, budget negotiations take place before contract signing, leading to research execution, monitoring, and closure.
