This course introduces students to the fast growing field of corpus linguistics. It aims to familiarize students with key concepts and common methods used in the construction of language corpora, as well as tools that have been developed for searching and analyzing corpora. Through a series of practical activities, students will be given hands-on experience in searching, building and analyzing corpora, with the aim of eventually developing the necessary skills for building their own corpus and carry out data analysis.
