The course is designed to equip students with a conceptual understanding of a number of issues related to the terminology and Arabization. First, a number of related terms are discussed and differentiated: Arabization, translation terms concepts and terminology. Students are also provided with a historical account of Arabization, examining the efforts exerted by different prominent people, whether they are caliphs, sponsors or translators, in different ages in the Islamic world. A number of other related issues are presented: Arabization problems, methods, and institutions. The students are encouraged to read the book critically, trying to learn the lessons from the history and past efforts of Arabization
