About the Program

The French Language Program at the Department of Translation focuses on providing students with French language competency and translation skills from French to Arabic and vice versa.

The Program introduces students within the College to the principles of the French language, through an introductory course designed to build their oral and written communication skills.

The specialized courses in the later four levels focus on gradually building knowledge and skills, as students acquire speaking, reading, writing and grammar mastery. As students become familiar with language culture and literature during the fourth level, they also begin studying translation strategies to acquire the necessary skills for this professional field. They are also trained on how to translate different types of texts.

Compulsory department requirements include (85) units of study.
