• Operating and supporting the systems available at PNU.
• Ensuring the continuous connection of all PNU departments, colleges, and deanships to the central network, which is connected to the Information Center; installing control units, terminals, and printers; and maintaining PCs.
• Preparing the local network for operation and connecting it to the external network.
• Monitoring the network and its performance and resolving all related problems.
• Providing support and multiple services to all PNU sectors.
• Installing operating systems and secondary systems and preparing them for operation.
• Backing up all storage areas for the different types of files.
• Providing technical support to information center users.
• Monitoring systems; tracking the performance of operating systems, secondary systems, and databases; and resolving related problems.
• Connecting and monitoring the Information Center’s electronic and electro-mechanic devices and equipment.
• Controlling the printer server for the network printers connected to the Information Center.
• Defining monitor and printer terminals.
• Supervising the servers for production and development applications.
• Preparing systems for operation in the Information Center.
• Defining new systems and transferring them from test mode to live mode.
• Managing storage areas in the information centers.
• Monitoring and preparing reports on storage units on a regular basis.
• Controlling and managing automated magnetic tape units.
• Creating and managing Oracle and SQL server databases and creating their tables and indexes.
• Connecting programs with the databases.
• Preparing the database systems for operation.
• Downloading software programs and tools for databases.
• Developing the PNU portal, affiliated sites, and annexed systems.
• Training all sectors on using the portal and hosting official affiliated sites.
• Applying and tracking international university site standards throughout the PNU portal and affiliated systems.
• Preparing the design for the portal and all affiliated parties.
• Unifying passwords at the level of the different PNU systems.
• Preparing the necessary studies for electronic system development.
• Testing new electronic systems and ensuring their conformity to customers’ needs.
• Designing electronic programs that conform to PNU sector needs.
• Testing new electronic programs and ensuring their conformity to customer needs and the technical requirements for electronic systems at PNU.
• Following up with program users and finding quick solutions to problems.
• Conducting regular maintenance for electronic programs and checking their performance.
• Creating, managing, and developing the unified central archive for PNU.
• Electronically archiving the transactions within the university in the department communication systems, and other systems.
• Electronically archiving the files for PNU students, faculty members, and employees, as well as the auditing files for the Health Department of the University Hospital.
• Electronically archiving the minutes for university, college, and scientific section councils and for permanent and temporary committees.
• Electronically archiving all university-related paper transactions and official documents.
• Protecting university transactions and official documents against damage or loss.
• Organizing the search for and retrieval of the information and data for different transactions and official documents according to the permissions granted to system users.
